The baroque center of the ancient city is adorned with the Temple of Apollo, Archimedes Square, a baroque cathedral built among the pillars of the Temple of the Goddess Athena, the Church of Saint Lucia and the Aretusa Fountain, which, according to tradition, testified to the ardent love of Ocean's son Alfie to the nymph Aretusa. Free time for lunch and return to Catania. Panoramic view of Catania, the baroque beauty as it is often called. Accommodation at a hotel in the late afternoon. Overnight stay.

Day 2: CATANIA - ETNA - TAORMINA - CATANIA

If weather permits and local authorities allow, we will drive up to an altitude of 1800 m and look at several smaller volcanic craters (Crater Silvestri), where you can taste the fierce Fuoco dell Etna liquor and buy souvenirs made of volcanic stone. We continue towards Taormina, one of the most picturesque Sicilian towns, nestled on a high cliff above the Ionian Sea. Continue on to Palermo through the green interior of the island. Arrival at a hotel in Palermo, accommodation. Going with a tour guide for a guided city tour. For millennia at the crossroads of civilizations, Palermo is a city of incredible aromas and flavors, a blend of Byzantine mosaics, Arab domes and murals. Back to the hotel with the tour manager. Overnight stay.

In the afternoon, we leave for Monreale (8 km from the center of Palermo) and visit the Duomo - the 12th-century cathedral, which is the pinnacle of Norman architecture in Sicily (extra charge for the booking of reservations *).
